As part of ‘Celebrating Syria' Festival 2018, and in partnership with Journeys Festival International and Fun Palaces, Longsight Library hosted "Future Aleppo" workshop on the 6th of October.
This child-oriented activity told the story of Mohammed Kteish, who saw the destruction of his beloved Aleppo and resolved that he would rebuild the city – reconstructing the fallen landmarks first as paper models and then in virtual reality.
Children were invited to build our own city of Manchester from paper models and create a virtual reality version of it and also experience the virtual reality through which they could travel inside and experience the city of Aleppo as Mohammed remembered it.
