An unmissable workshop on the art of Arabic Calligraphy
On Wednesday 6 November, we had the pleasure of exploring the beautiful art of Arabic calligraphy, as part of the Celebrating Syria: A Festival of Arts and Culture 2019. Syrian calligraphist Abdullah Al-Anezi led a workshop on the art of Arabic calligraphy at Longsight Library. Participants learned the basics of Arabic artistic handwriting and used a reed pen (qalam) and ink.
Abdullah Al-Anezi
Abdullah is a Manchester-based self-taught Syrian calligrapher. He has been practicing Arabic calligraphy for over seven years and has participated in several social and educational events all over the UK.
